The History of Steam Powered Studios

Founded by Jon Blizzard in 2011, Steam Powered Studios was created to allow the quality of work and the creative vision of creators shine through. Since the inception of SPS we have produced multiple award-winning short films, with several ambitious creatives behind them. Along the way we made a few corporate and promotional videos and found success in that. This lead Jon into more freelance based corporate work for various high end clients where he learned important skills and an appreciation for that type of work. It was a no brainer that SPS would then broaden its focus to include a more “creative for hire” approach. With this development, Steam Powered Studios is focused on finding and telling stories in the most ambitious way possible. We enjoy learning and pushing our own limits.
